Most things in this world, whether tangible or intangible, outlast human existence. That’s why we are always obsessed with the idea of leaving a mark. Lunarmare Press was established with the purpose of leaving “Marks”. I always believe that the marks left on paper are tangible expressions of memories, while the emotions connected to them are intangible and colorless, yet they surge and swell. These memories are like a flowing current of deep blue, hidden beneath what seems like a thick cover, often unnoticed, and sometimes we may even think we’ve forgotten them. We tend to believe that memories, over time, will gradually fade into vague shadows. However, once the surface of tranquility is unveiled at a certain moment, they gush forth, vivid and intense as ever, occupying the entire mind and leaving one in a prolonged state of unrest. In 2023, Lunarmare Press established and gradually developed a series of limited-edition handmade artist books. These books are designed and crafted by Jingjing Yang, printmaker and book artist who is also the founder of Lunarmare Press. The edition sizes of these handmade artist books range from 5 to 30. We also frequently invest significant time and effort in crafting intricate artist books, often one of a kind, or in small edition size (3 or less).
